About Me
| About Me: | |
| You can choose between two bios. Alan Rogers was born in Cambridge, a small village in upstate N.Y. His father's employment required the family to move back and forth across the country several times during his childhood. This allowed Alan to experience living in many different communities. Alan graduated in 1972 from Ballston Spa H.S. in New York State, and then enrolled at Schenectady Community College where for two years he maintained a 3.5 GPA. Due to financial difficulties, he left college before graduating. Over the next few years, Alan was employed as a mattress maker, yogurt cook, knitting machine operator, and glass laminator. In 1978 he married Mary Swinton, and the following year Alan Jr. was born. Alan's career path led him into the medical field where he worked 10 years as a CNA, and 12 years as a Medical Technician in a psychiatric facility. This job left him with a vast amount of experience interacting with people who had a variety of psychiatric problems, and inspired him to write Lyam's Journal, a novel which was published in 2008. Alan and Mary moved to Tucson, Arizona in 2007. They enjoy hiking in the desert and searching for gold. Alan's Major Influences: 1.) His parents 2.) Rev. Chuck Giesler Alan Rogers was born in Cambridge, a small village in upstate N.Y. where inbreeding was considered normal. His father's troubles with the law required the family to move rapidly and often. This left Alan with a nervous disorder Alan left school after the seventh grade to join his father robbing local gas stations. Even though he tried, Alan was never able to hold a job for more than a few weeks, and always returned to illegal activities. Finances were adequate, but not overwhelming. In 1969 at the age of 16, Alan was arrested for armed robbery and sentenced to 7-15 years at Elmira Correctional Facility. While there, he gained more skills and notoriety. After being paroled from prison in 1976, Alan married Mary Swinton his prison pen pal. After several days of hard core sex, Mary became pregnant, and nine months later Alan Jr was born. Finding it futile to obtain employment with a felony conviction, Alan soon returned to what he did best. As a stick-up kid, he learned how to interact with a variety of victims and always maintained an intimidating edge. Alan had a psychotic episode in 1994, and was committed to a locked medical facility where he remained for 12 years. Mary continued to be his pen pal. During his years in the psychiatric hospital, he kept a journal which was published after his release in 2006. In 2007 Alan and Mary moved to Tucson, Arizona where he collects his SSI Disability and continues to write. Alan's Major Influences: 1.) A clown named Sandy 2.) The voice behind his left ear. |

My Bookstore
| Storefront: | Lyam's Journal The smiling man who opened the door for you this morning was mimicking human behavior. Lyam Rogers has learned how to interact positively with people on a daily basis. He could be the person sitting next to you at the movies, your favorite co-worker, or your next door neighbor. Lyam struggles to maintain a level of civility in order to conceal his true nature. When the veil is removed it releases a degree of violence which cannot be contained. Writing in his journal allows Lyam the opportunity to drop the facade he wears like a suit, and gives the reader a glimpse into the mind af a sociopath. Lyam is the most original character you will meet between the covers of a book. Lyams Journal is available at 877-BUY-BOOK or online at bbotw.com or amazon.com |

One entry in the Journal can take you from being disturbed to laughing out loud. You can't help but have some type of reaction to reading Lyam's Journal. |
