Hey Kip. Read your pieces and your bio. First of all, am a breast cancer survivor, and of course prayers go to your wife from me.

Now, having worked here in D.C. I get confused if I'm anywhere where there are just WASPs.I truly don't feel right. As for actors, you're right. In recently watching "Kite Runner" they were all so good and I hadn't heard of a single one. Hollyweird needs to change. By the way, have you ever heard of Stan Winston? He went to my hi school and does special effects and i think won an Oscar.

"What Happened - 2005" is another moving narrative by a very gifted writer. I have to admit, as a police officer for over thirty-six years, I've experienced many (most) of the same negative feelings and emotions as Kip has. I was lucky though, and I never got so burnt out that I went over to the dark side. Much of what Kip says, about how many people end up not caring, is unfortunately true. But, I also believe that the majority of Americans today are good and decent people who, for the most part, try and do what is right, because it IS the right thing to do. Kip's excellent post should make all of us take stock in and/or evaluate ourselves. Have our values changed? Probably not! Have we changed? Hopefully not!!!! Kip, thanks again for an excellent piece of writing.

About Me

About Me:
A little about me. Hmm? Where to begin? I am an established film editor and special effects artist. I've written over a hundred scripts for different motion picture and television projects. As an avid western historian I've begun the "Great Cowboy Novel" several times only to be interrupted by script or post production work. But, I'm here to give it another try. Actually, I'm not going to try, I'm going to do. I've had enough of the Hollywood game to last me a good, long time.  So, I'm strapping on my gunbelt, saddling my horse and preparing to ride into adventure.
So let's expand on what it means to live in my world. I have a lovely wife of thirteen years and a beautiful eighteen month old daughter. We live in the Inland Empire, which is what they call the areas of Riverside and San Bernardino Counties in California. I enjoy single action shooting (cowboy weapons) and Belong to the Single Action Shooting Society. By day I'm a mild mannered Producer and Post Production Guy, but by night I'm a comic book, western, sci fi, fantasy, history, reading, writing machine known as "Honey" to my wife and "Hi Dad" to my little girl.
So here's the more I promised. In my video section, I now have a trailer for a pilot I wrote and directed. As the go around with a certain unnamed network left me retaining all of the rights, I've decided to novelize the story from my original script. Schould anyone like to read the original script, please contact me and I'll shoot it over to you. But, please, check out the trailer and let me know what you think.
I've made a decision over the past few days. I've had some health problems that have kept me away from writing as well as dealing with other family health issues and a recent passing of a family member. That being said, I made the decision to complete a series of action short stories I've been working on and publish them. I've posted the cover in my photos section and I've decided the lead story within the book will be "The game" that I have posted here. Please let me know what you think of the cover I value other writer and reader opinions.
Life comes at you when you're in the middle of your life. I've lost another member of my family this year. Two in one year is a lot to take, but to then find out that my wife has cancer on top of it all leaves me struggling. I pray daily for strength and guidance as I try to provide comfort and support to my wife and our two year old daughter. Whether you believe or not, any prayers, well wishes, happy thoughts, or just a nod of encouragement would be much appreciated.

My Bookshelf

What's on my bookshelf:

My bookshelf is rather eclectic. I have the complete Louis Lamour and Elmore Kelton collections as well as a vast array of Western History books. I also have a pretty good collection of sci-fi and fantasy (Terry Brooks, Stephen King, Steve Perry, Herbert, and "Doc" Smith)
And for my work I have a pretty good collection of "how-tos" for special effects.
And, my personal favorite, Everything ever written by James Lee Burke. The man is a freakin' genius! His novels paint such a picture you can lose yourself in them.
