I have just found this site lately and was going through to see if there were any other people from IN and found you. I write poetry and fiction though am not published in fiction. Sounds like you are going good.
Feedback from crimewriter: Working hard and trying to get as much of my work out 'there' or 'somewhere' as I can!

I read DUTY. I'm going to have to ponder this for a time. It feels like solitude and will not let go of me.
Feedback from crimewriter: Glad it grabbed you. I'd love to find out what you finally make of it! Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Joyce

Happy Turkey Day, Joyce. What a great way to end NaNoWriMo!

The Favor, Nicely done, I especially like the ending
Feedback from crimewriter: That was a crazy idea that had been rolling around in my head for quite some time. I just thought, wouldn't it be an interesting scenario if the killer thought they'd let the victim in on the plan, but in an apologetic, non-threatening way. Twisted? Maybe. But fun to write. Thanks for your comments.

I absolutely LOVED "US". I actually had several visualizations when I read that. One was a park at different points in time. Another was all of the people being one or two in different stages of thier lives. In a park, in a stationary spot. And last all of them as different people. There were so many ways to take this it just sets the mind free. Keep on writing.
Feedback from crimewriter: Thanks so much for your comments. The greatest compliment a writer can get is that they created a picture in the mind of the reader. That is always my goal and thanks for making me feel like I achieved it.

sweet. I like ur blog entry. I look forward to reading ur works. Mystery and horror is something I haven't picked up in a while so this ought to make for an interesting re-entry into exploring the genre.
Feedback from crimewriter: Thanks. I'm tied up this month in the NaNo thing, but I plan to post some more of my stories soon. Thanks again for the comments.

Us , beautiful in it's simplicity and truth. Touched my heart.

Feedback from crimewriter: Thanks, Deborah, That one means a lot to me. I was in line forever one time, and once 'free', I sat down and wrote that. I watched each person carefully and imagined... It was a very interesting experience writing that.

Loved the first two lines of "thoughts":
Reach for light that cannot be touched
It burns infinitely in an unobtainable rage
-
I strive for that light every day. I know it's out of my reach, but not reaching for it is not an option.
Feedback from crimewriter: Thanks, and that's so true. Stop reaching and you die. Definitely not an option.

About Me

Hi all,

I love to write.  My favorites are mysteries and crime.  I've also dabbled a bit into horror.  I have had a crime fiction e-book published by DiskUsPublishing called King's Bishop Takes King's Rook's Pawn, and a horror short included in the anthology Deathgrip: The Legacy, called Too Late a Lesson Learned.

I currently have a 'fantasy' manuscript out to a publisher for consideration, (actually, I received a contract to publish the fantasy chapter book!) and I am in the process of editing/completing my second crime novel.  I have two stories published on the webzine Crooked (Byline and A Gentleman Caller), and my futuristic thriller (Gone But Not Forgotten) has been accepted by Mythica Publishing for inclusion in their anthology entitled 'Maybe Tomorrow'.

I've also written one flash piece, and I've decided I want to change it up a bit and change the tone of it to make it more interesting and bizarre.  In this story, interesting and bizarre will go hand in hand.  I like working in that form; although, it's difficult to keep a story under 1,000 words.  It's difficult for me anyway, but I'm working hard at it.

I enjoy participating in writing challenges.  I participated in NaNoWriMo (November) and ViNoWriMo (January).  Writing a 50,000+ word novel in a month can be quite taxing, but it's also a lot of fun and really makes you dig down deep so as to write something worth reading when it's all done.  I'll be doing NaNoWriMo again this November; really looking forward to it.

I have a blog which contains discussions on writing crime fiction and horror at jfjuzwik.blogspot.com.  I try to update it on a regular basis, but lately, too many writing projects.  I have some topics I plan to add in the near future though.  My website is at jfjuzwik.webs.com and contains information on just about everything!

I love to read too, and I've always got two or three books going at the same time.  I love to read crime fiction, thrillers, suspense, mystery, and fantasy.  I believe all writers should be devoted readers first.  I think it  helps us to perfect our craft.

It's always nice to have a new neighbor settle in -- someone who is hard working, and intent on perfecting his craft. That is, unless he's a serial killer...
