I attended college in the 1970's intent on becoming a broadcast journalist, but somehow, as it will, life got in the way.
While working my real job, to keep the wife and children fed and clothed, I dabbled in every aspect of writing, acting and broadcasting as I could.
While living in Oklahoma City I performed theatre in the round with a local theatre troupe, braved the stage at Jokers Comedy Club, was the voice of several local radio commercials and free lanced my written services. It got me an eight month gig (the length of time that the magazine stayed in business) in 1993 with Oklahoma City's premier sports magazine, OKC Sports Fan Forum. I had a regular editorial column dedicated to the World Cup (which was being played in the United States that year) entitled "Soccer 101." I also contributed various other articles to the publication. This exposure led to my first "paid piece" that was published in the Black Chronicle, a local Oklahoma Newspaper.
After moving to Tucson I found opportunities limited until I started blogging and found a creative outlook for my talents. I still maintain an active blog which can be found at Bollocks.
I always knew that one day I would write a book, and my experiences after my last divorce bought the emotions together that has spawned, Blood On His Hands, a thriller set on the Appalachian Trail just outside of Helen GA. Three years later the novel is in the hands of Infinity and was published May 8 2009. See my website to order the book. |
