My name is actually not Outlawwriter as you may have guessed. It's Dan. Here's just a little history about how I got here.
It all started about 12 years ago when I decided I wanted to write a novel. Low and behold, it was not as easy as I thought. I decided to stop and emmerse my self in to books. I knew I needed more insight on structure, sub-plots, grammer and dialogue.
After a few 100 books I thought it was time to try again. Little did I know at the time, writing a book is the easy part. It's the constant tearing apart and re-building, not to mention the grammatical editing afterwards that is the real "meat on the bone" so to speak.
Publishing? That's whole new and seperate adventure as most of you here already know.
I think everyone has a book in them yearning to come out. Starting is the easy part, finishing is the gold at the end of the rainbow. NEVER give up and never mind your sales. It's all about accomplishment for most of us. A legacy we can pass down that can never be taken away. If you are writting to get rich, although it would be nice, I wish you the best of luck!
I write Western Fiction because that's what I like. I write in my own style which means to me: "Make every page count." No fluff, no filler pages for the sake of a longer novel.
I wish I had written Lonesome Dove, but I didn't. It is the best novel bar none in my opinion ever printed. My goal now is just to be the best writer that I can be. That's it!
I look forward to my first blog on this site which will focus on self-publishing and so called "Vanity" publishing and the unfortunate stigma attatched. |
