Hi LK! Something flipped here, i guess? ... i wrote to you earlier requesting to join your network, as in: be one of your readers, because I feel you share a lot! But I just saw your icon appearing on my page...it might have gone the other way around? As you may have observed, I'm quite new in Author Nation, I did an entry months ago, then I just got back. Thank you Pathfinder here

"As Deep As Your Love", beautiful, heartfelt words. Thank you for writing this reminder to those who write because they love the craft!! Have an awesome day. Aries
Feedback from LKHunsaker: Aries, thank you! I believe those of us writing for the art and love have a harder road, but it's the more worthy path.

"The Bird Feeder" Too funny; I undestand your plight. I only feed in winter; after the flight south - learned the hard way. Bird flocks would wipe out feeders in 1 day. Blue Jay's...not nice birds; they are always causing a ruckus. And yes; I agree to the relation to humans; look at our welfare system; some take advantage and live their entire life with their hand out. Then; when a hard working individual must use it; they have to pay it back.

"Look me in the Eye" awesomely written. It's amazing how telling a simple look can be. Know the roving eyes; stammering answer...we just want the truth.

Yep, Look Me in the Eye. I was raised to look people in the eye. That is a very important piece. There are too many people shirking their glances and hiding and doin' a fast turkey trot. How are things in Pa. Boy do I miss the Farmer's Market.

I've been here before. Oops.Didn't know you wrote romance novels. I love John Irving. Went to your personal page. It's lovely and very informative. ee is my fav too.I'll be back. Thanx, LK. God knows we all can use romance these days. Bring it back!
Feedback from LKHunsaker: Hi dev, it's romance with family relationship and societal stuff thrown in. Yes, real romance should make a comeback and I keep yelling that romance does not equal sex, lol.

Right on with the right on, Lady. No one is holding a gun to anyone's head to eat fast food. LA is a land of weirdness anyhow.I love PA. by the way.Now there's good eating. dev
Feedback from LKHunsaker: Thank you! PA ... yes, roadside stands full of fresh sweet corn, tomatoes, zucchini, cucumbers, strawberries.... I'm a fairly new resident of PA and quite happy to be here.

Just Out!  Off The Moon, the story of a young pop star whose world collides with a girl he pulls in from a window ledge.

Early reviews:

"LK Hunsaker hooked me with the first chapter of OFF THE MOON. Very raw. Very intriguing. When I settled down to continue reading, I finished OFF THE MOON in one sitting. At the kitchen table. On a laptop. With my arse going to sleep on a hard wooden chair.  Yes, the story is THAT compelling."

author Lainey Bancroft

"full of intriguing relationships, multi-layered characters, family angst and issues of trust and responsibility, ... a powerful read."
author Lindsay Townsend

Hello!

I have three novels out through Infinity and a fourth just released from Elucidate Publishing. My novels are "Literary Romance with an Artsy Twist." When I'm asked who they compare with, the best I can say is -- a mixture of Barbara Delinsky, John Irving, and Marilynne Robinson. Characterization is ultimately important to me and the basis of my work. I suppose it has something to do with my psychology background. All of my novels revolve around the arts, music in particular.

I have recently become obsessed with short fiction, and I write some poetry now and then as well as lyrics for certain of my novels. Although I'm mainly indie published, I do have stories and poems published in literary magazines.

As an advocate of sorts for those getting their work out there without traditional publishing companies, I run an indie publishing group on Writing.com [ http://www.writing.com/main/handler/item_id/971987 ]  and on Myspace [ http://www.myspace.com/onourown_indiepublishing ].

I tend to be all over the net, so you can find me in the following places.

http://www.elucidations.us -- my indie arts site (features artist interviews)
http://lkhunsaker.blogspot.com -- my official blog

http://voxxylady.writing.com -- my writing.com portfolio (some open to the public; the rest with various access restrictions)

Other than writing, I'm the network coordinator for Sandplay Voices (sand therapy training):

I love getting to know readers and hearing your thoughts, but I do tend to be overwhelmingly busy at times and may be slow in responding.

My Bookshelf

What's on my bookshelf:

I'm in the middle of:

A Night In Twisted River by John Irving

&

Always Looking Up by Michael J. Fox  (non-fiction about dealing with Parkinson's and the fight for stem cell research)

&

The Death of Adam by Marilynne Robinson (non-fiction essays about the misconstruing of our religious heritage)

I've recently read:

The Secret Between Us by Barbara Delinsky, good 'what if' story, average writing, had a hard time buying stuff that happened
Fire Eyes by Cheryl Pierson, raw, powerful historical romance, somewhat graphic
A Dilly Of A Death by Susan Wittig Albert, cozy mystery, slow start but builds interest along the way
A Knight's Vow by Lindsay Townsend, historical romance, nice read and non-graphic
Mucho Caliente by Francesca Prescott, a delightful, musical romantic comedy with a nice exotic locale, sensual with lots of nudity but non-erotic
All My Hopes and Dreams by Celia Yeary, western historical romance, fun and engrossing, non-erotic
Roger's Version by John Updike, a good read although I skipped a bunch of the technical computer stuff and found the uncle-niece relationship very disturbing
A Different Kind of Honesty by Jane Richardson, a fun and gripping contemp romance, non-erotic
Home by Marilynne Robinson,  incredible book, as is all of her work
A Perfect Day by Richard Paul Evans, an okay read but pretty commercial
The Gravedigger's Daughter  by Joyce Carol Oates, well-recommended
A Reason To Hope, by A.L. Marquardt, a thoughtful story about salvation and those who don't "fit in"
Face The Fire by Nora Roberts, enjoyable but predictable after the first 2 of the series
Islands in the Stream by Ernest Hemingway, always a worthy read, and the best last line I've read so far!

I post short book reviews here: http://www.writing.com/main/books/item_id/1083083
and do author interviews in my blog: http://lkhunsaker.blogspot.com
