| *** NEW! *** Just Out! Off The Moon, the story of a young pop star whose world collides with a girl he pulls in from a window ledge. Early reviews: "LK Hunsaker hooked me with the first chapter of OFF THE MOON. Very raw. Very intriguing. When I settled down to continue reading, I finished OFF THE MOON in one sitting. At the kitchen table. On a laptop. With my arse going to sleep on a hard wooden chair. Yes, the story is THAT compelling." author Lainey Bancroft"full of intriguing relationships, multi-layered characters, family angst and issues of trust and responsibility, ... a powerful read." author Lindsay Townsend Hello! I have three novels out through Infinity and a fourth just released from Elucidate Publishing. My novels are "Literary Romance with an Artsy Twist." When I'm asked who they compare with, the best I can say is -- a mixture of Barbara Delinsky, John Irving, and Marilynne Robinson. Characterization is ultimately important to me and the basis of my work. I suppose it has something to do with my psychology background. All of my novels revolve around the arts, music in particular. I have recently become obsessed with short fiction, and I write some poetry now and then as well as lyrics for certain of my novels. Although I'm mainly indie published, I do have stories and poems published in literary magazines. As an advocate of sorts for those getting their work out there without traditional publishing companies, I run an indie publishing group on Writing.com [ http://www.writing.com/main/handler/item_id/971987 ] and on Myspace [ http://www.myspace.com/onourown_indiepublishing ]. I tend to be all over the net, so you can find me in the following places. http://www.lkhunsaker.com -- my official site http://www.elucidations.us -- my indie arts site (features artist interviews) http://lkhunsaker.blogspot.com -- my official blog http://www.myspace.com/lkhunsaker -- Myspace http://voxxylady.writing.com -- my writing.com portfolio (some open to the public; the rest with various access restrictions) The buy links below will take you to my paperbacks. I'm in the middle of: A Night In Twisted River by John Irving & Always Looking Up by Michael J. Fox (non-fiction about dealing with Parkinson's and the fight for stem cell research) & The Death of Adam by Marilynne Robinson (non-fiction essays about the misconstruing of our religious heritage) I've recently read: The Secret Between Us by Barbara Delinsky, good 'what if' story, average writing, had a hard time buying stuff that happened Fire Eyes by Cheryl Pierson, raw, powerful historical romance, somewhat graphic A Dilly Of A Death by Susan Wittig Albert, cozy mystery, slow start but builds interest along the way A Knight's Vow by Lindsay Townsend, historical romance, nice read and non-graphic Mucho Caliente by Francesca Prescott, a delightful, musical romantic comedy with a nice exotic locale, sensual with lots of nudity but non-erotic All My Hopes and Dreams by Celia Yeary, western historical romance, fun and engrossing, non-erotic Roger's Version by John Updike, a good read although I skipped a bunch of the technical computer stuff and found the uncle-niece relationship very disturbing A Different Kind of Honesty by Jane Richardson, a fun and gripping contemp romance, non-erotic Home by Marilynne Robinson, incredible book, as is all of her work A Perfect Day by Richard Paul Evans, an okay read but pretty commercial The Gravedigger's Daughter by Joyce Carol Oates, well-recommended A Reason To Hope, by A.L. Marquardt, a thoughtful story about salvation and those who don't "fit in" Face The Fire by Nora Roberts, enjoyable but predictable after the first 2 of the series Islands in the Stream by Ernest Hemingway, always a worthy read, and the best last line I've read so far! I post short book reviews here: http://www.writing.com/main/books/item_id/1083083 and do author interviews in my blog: http://lkhunsaker.blogspot.com |

| Abstract: |
"Riveting" Ryan Reynauld is immersed in a world of music, parties, and temporary companionship. Having risen to the top of the pop charts, his biggest concern is objecting to the way his music is produced. That is, until he finds a young woman standing on a window ledge. Against the advice of family and friends, and through media attacks and fan protests, Ryan determines to care for her himself, making a promise that threatens to destroy his career.
Convincing the skittish girl she can learn to trust again comes with a steep price. Sometimes the path to recovery begins by allowing your world to implode. |
