I am a copyeditor with Infinity Publishing, and consider myself a fully-fledged word nerd. I am responsible for the Infinity myspace page, and I also have just started a "Notes from the Editor" blog that will provide writing and editing tips and tricks, as well as some of my experiences as an editor.

I love to look up everything that pops into my head that I don't know yet, and hence, I have become a go-to girl on the Fair Use doctrine, CMS-style citations, obscure grammar rules, mixed-up homonyms, and the Asian raccoon-dog. I was born in Durham, NC, went to college the first time in Lynchburg, Va, moved to Charleston, SC, for 5 years, and then moved to the Philadelphia area in 2002, so I consider myself a misplaced Southerner. After I moved here, I went back to school at Villanova University and graduated cum laude with a degree in writing-intensive Communications (Media & Rhetoric) and a Journalism certification.

I worked in veterinary medicine for 10 years, and am a total animal dork -- I have 1 dog, 3 cats, and 2 horses: Sancho (Panza), an Australian Cattle Dog; Grendel, Holden, & Mama, all rescue cats; and Pony (my first horse, whom I've had since I was 13) and Cutter (the $1 cowpony), two Quarter Horses that I ride and compete in the jumpers. I talk to animals to the point of embarassment, and always seem to remember a dog's name before I remember the owner's. I recently had to euthanize my beloved Labrador, Milo (Minderbinder), when he developed very fast-moving lymphoma, and I miss him very, very much.
