Miles, thanks for signing up for my newsletter.

I seem to have missed that your book is out!

The Fifth Column .. I'll have to find that one. I'm in the beginning of an anthology of his short stories and just finished "Islands in the Stream" to add to my Hemingway list.
Feedback from AlaskaMiles: I have a couple of more Hemingway stories/work for you. Obviously, The Moveable Feast, and The Garden of Eden, as well as Ernest Hemingway On Writing, edited by Larry Phillips... Those are three of my latest fun finds of Hemmy's work...
All the best,
Miles

Well, I rely on YOU for info. I think she's doing fine so far.She seems nice and feisty which she'll have to be here. I did defend her daughter because I don't like people picking on kids.As far as I know, they had a great turn-out in Falls Gulch yesterday. I mean Falls Church.

Ah, my brave Alaskan fella. Writing bout politics are we? Sarah was in Falls Churc, VA yesterday. I didn't know she was in Vogue. I rely on you to keep me informed. Thanx.(Am not a vogue gal, however)
Feedback from AlaskaMiles: Hi Dev
I'm not much into Redumblican politics either, but Sarah has Alaska by the tail -and has us all charged up about her being your average Wasilla Walmart Mom who just happens to have made it into high public office, and has been doing good things for us Alaskan's... Or so we all mostly think...
Besides she bonked ol' murki thinker on the head when he foul-ed up our state gov and then bought himself a Private jet with OUR money then used it to fly around the world making deals for his private companies... Naughty fellow that Murkowski... So we yanked him out and popped Sarah in... Now she has run off to join the Circus in your hometown of Washington D.C.
How is she doing so far?
All my best,
Miles Cobbett Author Champion

Storefront: CHAMPION:
A STORY OF THE HAPPY LIFE OF ROMAN LEFTHANDED LOSINSKI

A perfect book for reading aloud to a friend.

[Age 10 & up to Ph.D. level readers]

The purpose of writing Champion was to "Hook Kids on Reading."

Here is a taste of the easy-to-read 25,000 word, twelve chapter book that was specifically designed to help hook kids on reading. Kids of all ages seem to laugh right off the bat while reading the Chapter One heading. Try it with kids in your family, or any kids you know. Almost without exception, all children giggle with pleasure and anticipation while reading the words quoted below:

Chapter One

"Hey... what about my Money?"

The desert air was clear and crisp, at the boxing camp of former heavyweight champ Frank L. Jackson, when Roman Lefthanded Losinski appeared...

                          Go Miles Go!
In early August a woman saw me wearing the Tee-Shirt advertising my book Champion in our local Carl's Jr Restaurant. She asked where she could get a copy. I told here in Fairbanks at Barnes & Noble, and every other bookstore in town,  On-Line at Amazon.com or BuyBooksOnTheWeb.com, or she could get a signed copy from me. She asked me to get her a copy. I went out to my truck and brought her back a brand new book.
After she looked the book Champion over and read a sample, she decided to buy five more copies to give to friends as gifts...

Hmmm... I'm thinking I'll have to wear my Champion shirt and go to Carl's more often...

Abstract: "CHAMPION..."  is an easy to read little book about the life of a hardworking man from Fairbanks, Alaska--- who has left Alaska when the book begins (for reasons you find out later in the book), and has found work as a gardener's helper at a Professional Boxer Training Camp in Sedona, Arizona. On day one, after a long day's work laboring in the hot desert sun, he lets the Professional's talk him into being their "fill-in" sparring partner. Using a surprising combination of his strength, wits and homegrown ability---along with the stroke of luck of being in the right place at the right time---he gets an offer to enter the serious world of Professional Boxing...
