You pulled off something a lot of writers have tried and failed miserably at - writing in the second person narrative. Add that dimension to your spunky style of writing and you've got a dynamic piece of work. Bravo! Feedback from Kirsten Ashenbrenner: I was challenged (my choice--I really wanted to accomplish that one!) in class with a second person piece of writing. Kirsten Ashenbrenner

Kirsten is a twenty-year-old college student at a Maine University, studying for a degree in Literature. Kirsten has written many flash fiction, short stories, and poetry. She has also written a stage plays and a short screenplay. She has published many of these at various online websites.

“Let's see: I was born to an unprepared couple that didn't know squat about parenting. They knew more about sex, drugs, rock & roll than they did about raising a group of kids. Consequently, my brothers, sisters, and I grew up nearly on our own, in a rural Maine town --dysfunctional, of course.”

In addition to being a student and author Kirsten is also a painter, photographer, part time model, and sole caregiver for a dear aunt. She also works part time in a local independent bookstore.

“I received a head trauma from my father--one of his better days!--at fifteen and because of that I recall sporadic episodes which make no sense to me and have trouble believing some are real. Other recollections I speak of with my aunt and therapist appear unusually difficult for them to believe to be true. Thus, I am in a constant state of belief and disbelief inwardly and outwardly."
