from subtle to sunrise if blazing were

ChristopherJulian Published in poetrybeauty by ChristopherJulian

it wasn't so far a ride
(from subtle to sunrise if blazing
were a measure of time
to sensate  her hips in saltwater drips
and her lips in lemon
and lime
but he didn't because that
was a real thing and
there were no real things
here)
or a wreck
to breathe the fever
to warm the chill of another's neck
on the back deck of a
sailboat that wandered through
space and time
where I told you
that I am not an illusion and
I like you a lot my
marigold
but goodbye my dream
anyway
because I am far too anxious and
far too tired and you are far too
so far a ride (from subtle to sunrise
if blazing
were a measure of
time)
